(Audubon) The Audubon County Board of Supervisors took another step towards finalizing their tax rebate agreement with West Central.
Audubon County and West Central have agreed on a 50% tax rebate plan for ten years or up to $325,000, but before that can happen, a TIF district has to be established.
Supervisors chair Todd Nelson says, “Joe Behrens with region XII is helping us establish a TIF district. He works a lot with them so he told us what we needed to get which is a defined area, he needed proof that they had been granted a building permit in the area and the engineer had to do a cost estimate on what we projects we intend to pay from the TIF funds.”
West Central Co-op recently began taking beans at the new 4.9 million bushel storage facility in Hamlin.
