(ATLANTIC) The Atlantic High School continues to look into options on where to move their hospital school. The renovation of Cass County Memorial Hospital leaves no classroom space available for the High School after the first semester of the 2012-2013 school year.
Atlantic Schools Superintendent Dr. Michael Amstein presented a floor plan of the old Physicians building across from the Hospital to the School Board last night. Amstein said the building would need a little renovation, but there is plenty of space.
“I think it offers some very good possibilities for the opportunity,” said Dr. Amstein. “Dr. Delgado’s office is located just 50 feet away so he could come and go as he needed and also the staff that typically we pay for from year to year that are hospital staff, they would be housed on this site too.”
To avoid disrupting the students, Amstein said he would like to see the building ready at the beginning of the 2012-2013 school year.
