(Hamlin) One person was injured in a two-vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon in Hamlin.
The injured person is identified as 46-year-old Norma Jean WeItzel, of Sac City. She was taken to the Audubon County Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.
The Audubon County Sheriff’s Office says the accident happened at around 4:30 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 71 and Highway 44. According to the report, 46-year-old Norma Jean Weitzel, of Sac City was southbound on Highway 71. Another vehicle driven by 58-year-old, Stephen Robert Miller, of Audubon was eastbound on Highway 44 at the stop sign at Highway 71. Miller failed to see the Weitzel vehicle, started to turn left onto Highway 71, and was struck by the 2006 GMC.
The damage to Miller’s 2011 Chevy was estimated at $6,000.00. Weitzel’s vehicle sustained $2,000.00 damage.
The accident remains under investigation.
