(Villisca) The results of a feasibility study involving three school districts was presented at a public meeting at Villisca Thursday night. The study included the Stanton/Villisca districts and the Corning/Villisca Districts. The goal of the study was to explore the best options for the students. Corning/Villisca Superintendent Willie Stone says the results were problematic for Stanton/Villisca.
He says the study cited the current certified entrollment and decling enrollment of the two school combined, as well as the financial condition of the two schools.
However, the study did find it feasible for a long-range whole-grade sharing agreement between Corning and Villisca.
Stone says the next step is to appoint a steering committee to come up with a way to survey the community members involved.
