(IKM/Manning) The IKM/Manning School Board will hold a special school board meeting later today to continue the discussion in regards to the District’s long-term school facilities plan.
IKM/Manning Schools Superintendent Trevor Miller this is part of the three-year master planning process. School Official’s hosted three community planning meetings this past fall, two in Manning, one in Manilla, and another meeting will be held in Irwin at a date that has yet to be determined. Miller says He says the School District is looking at three options.
“Do we consider building a Pre-K-5 facility somewhere in the District, put everything in one location and what see what that would cost, or do we exercise option three, and take care of the needed repairs to the current facilities,” stated Miller.
The School Board meeting later today focuses on those three-options designed by an engineering and architectural firm.
“We’re going to nail it down to what the school board would like to do, and take it to the community,” explained Miller. “Right now it’s just a lot of numbers and information and how to plan for the long-term of this district.”
The Special School meeting starts at 5:00 p.m. in Manning.
