(Griswold) Griswold opposes one of the best passing attacks in 8-Player football this Friday night when East Mills comes to town.
Two teams with contrasting styles get together in Week 3. The Wolverines have turned to the air for 80% of their yardage on the season while the Tigers stick to the ground game to the tune of 86% of their total yardage coming in the run game.
East Mills has a mark of 2-1 which includes a season opening loss to Audubon followed by back-to-back wins over East Union (49-12) and Lamoni (51-46). The Tigers are 0-3 after falling to East Union last Friday night, 54-26.
They led the Eagles 26-12 in the first half before the visitors mounted a comeback. Griswold coach Andy Everett says, “Despite being short a couple of guys we came out and did really well running the ball. Derek Mueller did a great job leading the team and running the ball and playing quarterback. Defense was pretty good. We had a couple of guys hurt going into the game and these younger guys aren’t quite ready to go and sub in and help out. So we had about eight guys that were playing the whole time and we just got gassed.”
Derek Mueller ran for 170 yards and two scores in last week’s loss.
