Exira-EHK School Board Elections to have four candidates

(Elk Horn) Four individuals are running for spots on the Exira-EHK School Board.

Matt Jorgensen, Terri Harris, and Joel Schlueter are all seeking re-election and will run unopposed. Kevin Wilson has decided not to run again and Jodee Dixon has filed papers for his seat.

“Jodee Dixon is a former teacher and coach at Exira-EHK. She is currently working on her law degree through Creighton. I think she’ll be a great asset to us. I think it’ll be good for our district to have a former teacher and coach on the board.”

Exira-EHK Superintendent Trevor Mill on the important role of school board members, “They set the policies and work with the budget on making sure we are fiscally stable. It’s always good to have people with kids in the community so that way they can help out and see how we can improve our instructional programming. They also help us with legislation and making sure we are focusing on the right things for public education.”

The election date is Tuesday, November 5th.
