City of Audubon awards garbage contract to Carroll Refuse

(Audubon) The City of Audubon is setting their old garbage contract out on the curb.

Carroll Refuse was awarded the garbage bid by the City Council during their meeting on Monday. City Clerk Joe Foran says “Carroll Refuse is going to provide containers for all of the residents. They’ll take over the contract January 1st so shortly thereafter residents can expect to receive a 96 gallon trash container.”

Carroll Refuse was awarded the bid over Bohlmann Sanitation.

“Another bonus that Carroll Refuse will use is they will provide roll offs to the city for a city clean up day. That is something the city council and mayor have been considering so that was a big plus to us.”

Foran says the council accepted some bids for the sale of vacant lots. No action was taken on making the intersection of LeRoy and South Streets a four way stop. Additionally, the Police Department is still searching for a full-time officer after their lone applicant declined the offer. They’ll re-advertise for the position in a broader area.
