(Audubon) The Audubon County Board of Supervisors hired a new County Emergency Manager last week.
Supervisor Gary VanAernam told KSOM/KS95 News Phil Mennenoh has taken over the position following Mike Jensen’s resignation.
VanAernam says they interviewed several candidates and their choice came down Mennenoh, who was born and raised in Audubon County.
VanAernam says the Federal Government previously employed Phil in law enforcement for the National Park service. “He retired back to the farm, and when this job opened up he applied and was hired,” said VanAernam.
Mennenoh will be responsible for all Homeland Security information, storm spotting and will serve on the 9-1-1 Board. The job is a part-time position which VanAernam says works out well with Phil.
